From the independent Community Association (RW) competition held by the Malang city government some time ago, RW 7, Lowokwaru sub-district, Lowokwaru district was finally selected as the Best Independent RW and beat other RWs in 5 sub-districts in Malang City. For the selection of RW 7, Lowokwaru sub-district, Malang Mayor, Drs. Peni Suparto, M.AP gave a certificate of appreciation and development money of Rp 50 million.
According to the Head of the Malang City Cleanliness and Parks Service (DKP), Drs. Wasto, SH, with the achievement of the best independent RW by RW 7, Lowokwaru Village, the tasks and challenges of the community in the area become greater. "The community or RW who becomes the winner must be able to maintain three important things so that the lives of its residents are harmonious and become an example for other RWs. The three things in question include economic, physical and social aspects. These three factors are also the assessments in determining the best independent RW," he said.
The prize in the form of cash of Rp 50 million will be used for training costs and also physical development in RW 7, Lowokwaru Village. The coaching money will be given in cash. While the second to fifth winners will receive assistance in the form of 50 pots and flowers.
This prize is given to help the winner in carrying out development for its citizens so that they are able to answer the challenges of the increasingly advanced era. RW Mandiri must be able to utilize the economic potential of its region so that it can be empowered optimally. In addition, the funds will be used to improve regional infrastructure so that it can later become a "RW Wisata".
On the other hand, the Head of the Malang City Environmental Cadre Association, Darsono added, if the tough challenge faced by the winner of the best independent RW is to increase togetherness among the community members. "This togetherness can be in the form of community awareness of the cleanliness of the surrounding environment, an attitude of mutual respect, cooperation, and so on.
