The allocation of education funds from the Malang City Government's 2012 APBD of Rp 40 billion seems unlikely to be fully absorbed. This is related to the new budget year starting in January 2012, while the new school year starts in June 2012 and the budget will be disbursed in July 2012. Of the Rp 40 billion, it is estimated that only 50 percent or Rp 20 billion will be used.

This was conveyed by the Chairperson of Commission D of the Malang City DPRD, Christea Frisdiantara at the council building, Friday (02/12/2011). However, said Christea, all allocations of funds for the development of education in Malang City will be maximized to one hundred percent. "We will utilize several posts so that our education world is even better," she said.
The priority posts, continued the Democrat Party politician, include maximizing existing programs in Early Childhood Education (PAUD), autism schools, training, programs for street children and beggars, and several other urgent posts. "For further details, we will hold hearing with the DPRD budget agency so that everything is clearer and there is a solution," he added.
Christea added, the use of the budget will also be audited to ensure it runs according to the program. The audit, she said, will come from independent elements or from external parties who are competent in their fields. "If so far the education office has been audited, for 2012, we plan that the schools will also be audited. This audit will be carried out at the end of budget use, at the end of December 2012 or early January 2013," she continued.
Meanwhile, a member of the Malang City DPRD budget committee, Sri Untari, confirmed this. Commission D, said the PDIP politician, must clearly explain the programs for education along with the use of the budget, so that later our education world is expected to be even better.
The use of the Rp 40 billion budget, Untari explained, if it is still lacking, then it will be allocated again during the Financial Allocation Change (PAK). "However, I think the budget is enough to develop and advance the world of education in the city of Malang," concluded Untari. (say/dmb)
