Racers from Malang City, Elga Kharisma Novanda and racer from Lumajang, Abu Amin, performed exceptionally in the Pra PON BMX championship for the 2012 XVIII PON qualification. Appearing in the BMX cross category, these two racers trained by Malang City succeeded in becoming the best, at the Velodrome circuit, Sawojajar, Friday (2/12).
With this success, Elga-Amin managed to continue their achievement of being the best at the XXVI Sea Games in Jakarta where both also won gold. In addition to Elga, Malang City racer Raiza Kristanto won third place.
For the second position in the men's BMX category was taken by Tonny Syarifuddin from Central Java, while in the women's sector, second place was won by Suswanti from Central Java and third was Niki San San from West Java. Another Malang City racer who appeared in the Pra PON BMX category Khabib Rahmadin is still left behind in seventh place.
Malang City cycling coach, Sugeng Trihartono admitted that he was happy with Elga's consistency in being able to show that he was the best again. This success is a good capital before he appears in the upcoming PON XVIII in 2012.
"Apart from Elga, I hope that Pornomo, Popo Aryo Sejati, and Fitriyanti Riyanti who will appear in the downhill category can become champions," said Tono, Sugeng Trihartono's nickname.
Elga admitted that he was happy with his current achievement, this success was inseparable from the introduction of good terrain and routine training. Unlike the circuit in Jakarta which was still unfamiliar, the circuit at the Sawojajar velodrome was no longer foreign to him.
