East Java III Regional Tax Office Holds Tax Care Healthy Walk

In connection with the fact that there are still many people who are not aware of the benefits of taxes, and there are still many taxpayers who have not submitted their SPT, reported their SPT on time and also have not paid their taxes correctly, the tax office as the tax collector always makes maximum efforts so that this does not drag on.

As done by the Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) East Java III which has an office on Jalan S. Parman, Malang City, holding a healthy walk to care about taxes, Sunday (11/11/2011) on the main road of Ijen/Simpang Balap. The healthy walk which was attended by around 2700 participants from Malang Raya is expected to increase public awareness to pay taxes and be able to submit SPT on time.

This was confirmed by the head of the East Java III Regional Tax Office, Ken Dwijoguesteadi when met after releasing the participants of the walk. According to him, this healthy walk is an annual tradition which is also a means of socializing the importance of taxes. "If the public already knows about the importance and benefits of taxes for what and where they go, then they will pay taxes in an orderly manner," he said.

In Malang City, Ken explained, there are still around 70 percent of the 1 million taxpayers who have not submitted their SPT until now. "Meanwhile, the target of the East Java Regional Tax Office is 7,6 trillion and until now 85 percent has been realized. Until the end of 2011, we hope that all can be achieved one hundred percent, and we are optimistic about that," he added.

For now, Ken continued, his party is still prioritizing or focusing on the business community for their SPT and tax payments, and in this case we are only appealing to the concerned and also taxpayers. "We will take coercive action if there is an indication of tax evasion," he continued.

If this happens, he said, then an investigation will be carried out by the authorities, as happened some time ago in Jakarta. "We will carry out this coercion if after being appealed to 3 times the taxpayer ignores it. After that, it will be continued with an examination if it is estimated that it will harm the state.

Asked about the results of the National Tax Census (SPN) in Malang City, Ken admitted that so far the response from Malang residents has been very good and there have been no obstacles. "It's just a census, not to collect taxes. So people don't need to be afraid if our officers come to their homes. We also appeal to the public to support the success of the SPN," he said.

For your information, in this tax care healthy walk, the committee provides a total prize of Rp 20 million and various consolation prizes, such as mountain bikes, refrigerators, etc. In front of the main stage, there are also stands for tax clinics, health consultations, dental consultations, blood donations, and reflexology massage.
