Entering the third week of December, the Mayor of Malang received special guests from Jakarta. The DPR RI delegation led by Deputy Chairman of Commission II, Ganjar Pranowo visited Malang City, Tuesday (20/12).

Not only visiting, Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives also had an audience with the mayor and all officials of the Malang City SKPD, at the City Hall. The group also directly observed the implementation of E-KTP in Klojen District.
In his speech, the mayor, Drs Peni Suparto M AP told a lot of stories about the various successes achieved by the city of Malang. Where this year there are 527 achievements, which will break the MURI record made the previous year.
"If there are 365 achievements in one month, it means that there is no day without an achievement achieved by Malang City. It can be achieved thanks to the solidarity of the community," explained Peni, Tuesday (20/12).
Apart from the various achievements, Peni admitted that specifically for the E-KTP program that should have been completed in 197 cities in Indonesia by the end of 2011, in Malang City the implementation is still far from expectations. Of the 677.757 people who should have been served, only 89.198 have been completed or 13,2%.
"Malang City has made maximum efforts to make the E-KTP a success, but because the equipment from the center of the quota of 45 units has only been realized for 10 units, this is the main factor in the E-KTP service not being successful," said Peni.
With only 10 units provided, this means that each sub-district only has two units, even though one sub-district alone has a population of more than 100.000, it is clearly impossible to serve them for two months.
Ganjar said his arrival with his entourage to Malang City had several purposes, including to capture issues that are currently happening in the region to be accommodated and discussed at the center. Secondly, to carry out the duties and functions of the council related to legislation, inspections, budgets, regional government, implementation of laws, regional elections and population administration.
"The report from the Minister of Home Affairs on the E-KTP which spent Rp 6,3 trillion is all running smoothly, the minister even dared to say he would resign if the E-KTP is not completed by the end of 2011. By seeing it directly in the field like now, we increasingly know what is happening in the field," Ganjar emphasized.
Indonesian House of Representatives from the PKB Faction, Ahmad Malik Hanoman added after seeing the reality in Malang, his party will urge the Minister of Home Affairs to take responsibility. Because how is it possible that the E-KTP can be completed in 2011 considering that the equipment itself does not support it, while the budget is so large.
"Not only in Malang, the E-KTP failed to be completed this year, in Indramayu which we visited, it was also the same as several other areas in Indonesia," explained Malik. (cah/dmb)
