Longing to contribute to Malang City to make it more beautiful and cool, SMK PGRI III Malang City is ready to carry out a tree planting action. So that the plants planted can be well maintained, the school located on Jl Raya Tlogomas collaborated with the Malang City Cleanliness and Parks Service (DKP), Wednesday (28/12).
The principal of SMK PGRI III Malang City, Santur Hidayat SPd, revealed that the tree planting date carried out by his school would be January 11, 2012. In order for the planting to be truly on target, careful planning was carried out well in advance.
"By working together with the DKP, we hope that after the plants are planted, they can be well maintained so that the trees can grow well and provide shade for the city of Malang," explained Santur, Wednesday (28/12).
Starting from that desire, Santur added that his school's determination received a response from the Malang City DKP. Therefore, he was invited to the DKP anniversary event, and symbolically received assistance in the form of tree seedlings.
Specifically for the tree seedlings prepared by his school, Santur admitted that at least 1000 seedlings had been prepared. The types are mahogany, tanjung and Gembilia. The trees planted already have sufficient height, mahogany 1-2 meters, tanjung 2 meters and gembilia one meter.
"The trees will be planted starting from Arjosari Terminal, Jl. Tlogomas, to the MT Hariyono area of Malang City," said Santur.
In planting trees later, Santur said that he would involve all students of SMK PGRI Malang City who are not PKL. By involving children in planting, it is hoped that from an early age it can foster children's love for the environment.
"Along with the tree planting action, our school will also hold a blood donation action," explained Santur. (cah/dmb)
