Evaluating and designing what KONI activities will be in the future, KONI Malang City held an Annual Members Meeting (RAT). The meeting involving all KONI sports branch members was held in the Majapahit Room, Malang City Hall, Thursday (29/12).
In addition to being attended by KONI administrators, all representatives of each member of the sports branch (Cabor) RAT were also attended by the Mayor of Malang Drs Peni Suparto. On this occasion, the number one person in the Malang City government officially opened the RAT.
The Head of the RAT Implementation Committee, Hendry ST MT, revealed that every year at least once according to the AD/ART of KONI Malang City, it is mandatory to hold an RAT. With the holding of this activity, it means that KONI Malang City obeys the principles of the organization which means that KONI Malang City is healthy.
"From this RAT we evaluate the 2011 work program, what needs to be fixed, what needs to be modified is discussed in this activity. For better achievements in the future," explained Hendry, Thursday (29/12).
According to Hendry from Malang City around the 9th-10th century, a woman was born who was finally able to give birth to Javanese kings in Indonesia. Imitating that spirit, he now also hopes that through sports, Malang City must be able to give birth to champions who can achieve at the national and international levels.
Hendry added that this RAT was attended by 80 representatives from sports branches in Malang City, as well as 30 KONI administrators. With this RAT, he hopes that Malang City's achievements can be even better in the future.
Peni added that RAT is a regular but special activity, because from here it is evaluated how far KONI has worked. With the RAT, there are at least three main evaluations so that Malang City's sports achievements can be more advanced.
"First, Malang City must have a superior sport, not just one that becomes the champion every year. This must be maintained because other regions will definitely compete to also become champions," said Peni.
Second, athlete development in Malang City must start from an early age and be taken seriously in all sports. Third, sports must be developed into community property, so that they can grow and advance. (cah/dmb)
