For the umpteenth time, the Malang city government received an award in the field of its performance which showed high productivity. This time the award was received by the Public Works Department (DPU) for the field of creative works.
The award was symbolically received by the mayor of Malang, Drs Peni Suparto M.AP at the office of the PU RI ministry, Monday night (03/12). This award was given in the context of PU's devotion day, and the city of Malang won first place, followed by the city of Banjarmasin and the third place was Balikpapan City.
This was conveyed by the head of public relations of the Malang city government, Sapto P. Santoso to reporters, Tuesday (04/12). The criteria for the award, he said, are non-technical, namely related to the commitment of the local government in serving the community and vice versa, the community's commitment to continue supporting the programs of the Malang city government.
Meanwhile, the technical factors, Sapto explained, are the availability of facilities and infrastructure in the creative work sector, Malang City Public Works Department, such as the existence of rusunawa facilities in Kedungkandang sub-district which are intended for poor residents. "In addition, sanitation, cleanliness/environmental health and other technical factors are considered very good," he added.
"This award is an honor and pride for the Malang city government, especially the creative work sector of the Malang City Public Works Department. The achievements of this Public Works Department can be used as motivation for other SKPDs in the Malang city government," concluded Sapto. (Say)
