That was what was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. Peni Suparto, M.AP at the opening of the regional trade, craft and arts and culture exhibition at the Malang Olympic Garden (MOG), Wednesday (05/12). An exhibition like this, said the man who is often called Inep, has many important meanings.
Although it seems simple, the mayor explained, there is a mutual symbiosis between regions in an event like this. "A region can learn from other regions or exchange knowledge, so that later there will be good cooperation and products that have high competitiveness. Thus, later the product will be able to compete in the increasingly high business competition," he added.
Overseas, Inep explained, it is always hit by economic crises, and Indonesia through the governor instructed that regional potentials continue to be developed so that the impact of the crisis is not too impactful, especially in Malang City. Because by developing SMEs, it will help the community's economy. "If our SMEs are strong, then they will be a strong foundation for the community's economy, especially for the middle class," she continued.
Inep further said, the impact of this crisis is also felt, such as furniture and cigarette factories that are affected by the new regulations and the global crisis, not a few of which have gone bankrupt. "This cannot be allowed to happen for a long time, because it will have a fatal impact on the people's economy," he explained.
With an exhibition like this, she hopes to be able to increase the competitiveness of each region, and one of them is by comparing each product from each region.
