The echo of Malang City, which is already identical to the city of education, its nuances in the future will certainly be even thicker. Because Malang City has now officially declared Malang City as an inclusive education city, at SMKN 4, Monday (5/12).
Present at the inauguration of Malang City as an Inclusive Education City, Director of Special Education Development and Special Services for Elementary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Mujito, UMM Rector Muhadjir Efendy, Mayor of Malang Drs. Peni Suparto, M.AP, Malang City Secretary Shofwan, Head of Malang City Education Office along with all education staff from kindergarten to university.
Mujito expressed his happiness with the designation of Malang City as an inclusive education city, because with this designation, children with special needs will receive proper education. With this designation, parents who have children with special needs will no longer be ashamed to send their children to school, because Malang City is ready to educate them as well as possible.
"In Indonesia, there are already five cities that have planned to have inclusive education, in East Java, Malang City is a pioneer in the plan to become an inclusive education city," explained Mujito, Wednesday (5/12).
With it now being pioneered in Malang City, Mujito hopes that other cities/regencies in East Java will also compete to provide education for inclusive children. Through this method, it is hoped that in the future more children with special needs can get a good education like normal children.
"We hope that this launch can become a comprehensive movement at all levels of school. In the future, all inclusive children will increasingly have the right to receive education which has become a mandate of the Constitution," said Mujito.
Head of Malang City Education Office, Dra. Sri Wahyuningtyas, M.Si revealed, with this launch all schools in Malang City are required to accept inclusive children. Both at the playgroup, kindergarten, elementary school to college levels are not allowed to reject inclusive children who want to go to school.
"In Malang City, everything is complete to accept inclusive children starting from playgroup to PT, so there is no reason not to do it," said Yuyun, Sri Wahyuningtyas' nickname. (cah/dmb)
