A multitude of achievements and services from PDAM

Compared to 2011, PDAM (Regional Drinking Water Company) of Malang City experienced many progress and achievements in 2012. As the number of customers last year as many as 106.891, and this year experienced an increase of 9,30 percent or as many as 116.183 customers.

Service coverage in 2011 was at 71,69 and has now increased to 83,63 or increased by 12 percent. While the level of water loss last year was 38,63 and in 2012 it was 33,24 or decreased by 3,3 percent. Some of these achievements are the result of hard work and good cooperation in all elements in PDAM.

That was conveyed by the Director of PDAM Malang City, HM Jemianto, Thursday (20/12). Meanwhile, to provide convenience in paying customer bills, said Jemianto, currently PDAM is collaborating with Bank Mandiri, and payments can be made via online.

The former Head of the Public Library and Archives of Malang City added that currently, customer billing information can also be viewed via the internet. "Bills can be checked at http://tagihan.pdamkotamalang.com, or via SMS to 081805000830. And to beetles bill payments, PDAM also collaborates with Bank Bukopin," he explained.

To accelerate the installation of connections, especially for standard connections, Jemianto explained, his party also collaborates with cooperatives. Thus, PDAM can accelerate the connection with a maximum time of two days. "To ensure the results of the meter readings are valid or their accuracy is guaranteed, PDAM officers use mobile phones with applications that have GPS and photo features," he explained.

Jemianto added, the new standard installation rate, the cost is reduced significantly, namely from the original Rp 1.250.000 to Rp 998.000. "The connection service for Low-Income Communities (MBR) is also very cheap, which is only Rp 500 thousand. And since 2009 to 2012, PDAM has not adjusted the water tariff," he explained.

"From all of that, we try to provide the best service to customers and potential new customers of PDAM. In 2013, we hope that all residents of Malang can enjoy clean, healthy water," concluded Jemianto. (say/dmb)
