Malang City Hospital Receives IDR 38,4 Billion in Funding

Currently, the Malang City Government is building the Regional Public Hospital. The construction is expected to be fully completed by the middle of next year. To finish the continued project, funds of Rp 38,4 billion were disbursed from several budget items.

That was conveyed by the Chairperson of Commission D of the Malang City DPRD, Fransiska Rahayu Budiwiarti, Friday (21/12). According to her, the funds were disbursed from the 2013 APBD and the Excise and Tobacco Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCT).

"Some of the funds are allocated for everything from building construction to procuring equipment for a special clinic for patients who are sick due to the effects of smoking," he said.

In detail, the total budget allocation of Rp 38,4 billion came from DBHCT Rp 14 billion and from APBD Rp 24,4 billion. The budget will be used for the continuation of the project that has been carried out since last year.

"Currently the hospital is partially operational, with the additional funds available we hope that by June 2013 it will be fully operational," explained Fransiska, Friday (21/12)

Malang City Hospital is located in Bumiayu, Kedungkandang District. In addition to general patients, the hospital also serves residents who suffer from diseases caused by smoking. The reason the hospital is located in the Kedungkandang area is to support the acceleration of integrated area development.

For your information, the development program in Malang city is currently focusing on the eastern part of the city, namely in the Kedungkandang District area. The Malang city government office center and various educational institutions are already in the area. (say/dmb)
