Present in the lively dialogue were the Head of Bulog Malang, Awaludin Iqbal, the chairman of PWI Malang Irawan and the Deputy chairman of PWI East Java Lutfilul Hakim. From this dialogue, much information can be extracted on how far Buloq's performance is in being able to make the rice program for the poor (raskin) a success so that it can be right on target.

Iqbal said the Raskin program has been running for about 14 years since 1998 and is still ongoing. The existence of this program is a form of concern for the underprivileged.

"Raskin has been very interesting to discuss for media friends, as long as the discussion is proportional according to the existing reality, we are very happy because it can help educate the community," explained Iqbal, Friday (28/12).

Meanwhile, the Head of PWI Malang Raya, Irawan, said that the current data on poor people should continue to be considered, because since the data used as a benchmark is data made in 2005, even though during this time there have certainly been many changes.

"The number of poor people has certainly changed, therefore the distribution of Raski must continue to be monitored by the community, including media personnel, to ensure it reaches the right targets," said Irawan.

With such a large area of Malang, the distribution of Raskin certainly faces various problems in distribution. Therefore, in order for this program for the underprivileged to be successful, public accountability must continue to be improved. (cah/dmb)
