As a government program on health insurance for poor people, starting in January 2014, every poor person's insurance will be paid by the local government. In Malang City, every poor person receiving health insurance is allocated funds of Rp 19.255,- per month for their insurance premium.

Temporary data from the Malang City Health Office (Dinkes), there are 41 thousand poor people who will be insured. From this data, the validation process is still ongoing, so that the data is more accurate. If later there are any that are missed, then residents can still use the poverty statement letter (SPM). The health insurance will be implemented next year as a replacement for the regional health insurance program (Jamkesda).
This was conveyed by the Head of the Malang City Health Office, dr. Supranoto, Tuesday (10/12). The funds from the Malang City APBD for health insurance, he said, will be handed over to the Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) every month, as the managing party. "Likewise, which hospitals will be referrals, are also determined by BPJS," he explained.
"In 2014, the Malang City Government will allocate Rp 25 billion for health services for the poor. Of this budget, Rp 15 billion from the 2014 APBD is allocated for health insurance, and the remaining Rp 10 billion is for health insurance funds. sharing between the Malang City Government and the East Java Provincial Government for those who are notcover in health insurance services, aka for citizens who use SPM," explained Supranoto.
In this program, Supranoto continued, the Malang City Government is only responsible for paying the monthly insurance premiums, and for poor residents who do not... covered in regional health insurance (Jamkesda), then in 2014 it will change to health insurance. "While for National Health Insurance (Jamkesnas), the funds are directly covered by the central government," he explained.
"We don't know in detail how much it is because it comes directly from the APBN. Until now, there are still 103 thousand poor people in Malang City who are included in Jamkesnas. For this BPJS program, we will definitely continue to validate the data of residents who are classified as poor. If there is valid data, then the data will become database we can use it for our other needs," concluded Supranoto. (say/dmb)
