Ahead of BPJS, Commission D Waits for Poor Citizens' Data

Data from the Malang City Health Service (Dinkes) for a year, more than 5 thousand Malang City residents used the Poverty Declaration Letter (SPM) when going to the hospital for treatment. They are poor residents who are notcover in regional health insurance (Jamkesda) which in 2014 will be replaced by health insurance.

In addition, there are still 103 thousand poor people included in the national health insurance (Jamkesnas). The data is related to the government program regarding the Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) which will be implemented starting in January 2014.

In this regard, Secretary of Commission D of Malang City DPRD, Tri Yudiani, Thursday (12/12) said that the data on recipients of the health insurance program must be truly accurate and on target. He hopes that before the discussion of the 2014 APBD is completed, the data will be fixed and can be accepted by his party.

"So far, the Health Department has not given us real data on the number of poor people who will be insured. Moreover, this program is also a national program. It is now mid-December, and we should have received the data in the next few days," said the woman who is usually called Yudis.

The PDI Perjuangan politician gave an example, in 2013 for example, many poor people were not registered as recipients of the Jamkesda program. Commission D itself often received complaints from poor people because they did not benefit from the program. "Don't let many complaints arise because people feel that the program recipients are not on target," said Yudis.

"This government insurance is very important and needed by the poor people of Malang City. In order for this insurance to be right on target, the data must be validated immediately. We are still waiting for the data, and we hope that this week the data will be submitted to us. Don't let any poor people miss out on getting this insurance," concluded Yudis. (say/dmb)
