The Daily Chair of the Indonesian Cycling Association (ISSI) of Malang City, Drg. Rudhanton, admitted that he was satisfied to see the high enthusiasm of children in Malang City to appear in the Mayor's Cup. Although many came with limited capital, the children appeared fight compete closely in the championship at the Sawojajar Velodrome.

"Seeing the high enthusiasm of the children, we plan to hold activities like this once every three months, with the hope that more and more quality racing seeds will emerge from the competition held in Malang City," said Rudhanton, Sunday (22/12).

Rudhanton added, the championship was deliberately focused on elementary school children because this is a nursery event. From events like this, talented seeds can be monitored who can later become the mainstay of Malang City.

"We will continue to develop the potential racers who are monitored in this event, hopefully in two to four years there will be good athletes who can become the mainstay of Malang City both in the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), Regional Student Sports Week (Popda) to the National Sports Week (PON) and SEA Games," explained Rudhanton.

With good and continuous coaching, Rudhanton is optimistic that currently Malang City already has Elga Kharisma who is the ASEAN champion, Tifani Adine Almira and Chrismonita who are Porprov champions. In the future, there will be more successful racers who can make Malang City proud.

"Because this championship is for children, we make the atmosphere as cheerful as possible in accordance with the world of children. The hope is that children, even though they are participating in the championship, will still feel happy so that they can grow a love of bicycle racing from an early age," said Rudhanton. (cah/dmb)
