Head of the Malang City Trade and Industry Agency, Tuesday (24/12), Hadi Santoso said that since last week his party has been holding the control. As a result, 89 food and beverage items were successfully confiscated in several markets, both traditional and modern. "So far there are 24 business actors who are under our supervision," continued the man who is familiarly called Soni.

"A number of criteria for goods that are regulated include checking goods with SNI (Indonesian National Standard), product halalness, and product expiration date. Many expired goods are sold on the market, the provision is that the withdrawal of goods must be carried out one month before their expiration date. So that the food/drinks consumed by the public remain healthy," explained Soni.

For business actors found violating the rules, Soni explained, they are required to immediately withdraw the circulation of food and drinks that are not fit for consumption. "In addition, business actors also have an obligation to report to the Trade and Industry Agency regularly. So far, business actors are still cooperative and always communicate with the Trade and Industry Agency," Soni explained.

The bespectacled man admitted that so far in traditional markets, beef liver containing worms has been found, and at that time it was immediately destroyed. "Likewise for halal labels on food, we have a font that cannot be imitated by anyone, so that the food will be visible whether the halal label is genuine or fake," concluded Soni. (say/dmb)
