The Malang City Regional Revenue Service (Dispenda) gave an award to Hari Purnomo (51) who is the owner of the stall 'Isor Nongko' , Tuesday (30/12). As a taxpayer, Mr. Hari, as he is called, is a figure who can be an example for other citizens. With full awareness, he always pays his shop tax to the Malang City Revenue Office.
Although his stall on Jl. Gajahmada is not too big and not permanent, he is one of the citizens of Malang City who is aware and obedient to pay taxes. As mandated in the rules of tax on restaurants or eateries of 10 percent, Mr. Hari has fulfilled his obligation to pay taxes so it is appropriate for the Malang City Revenue Service to give him an award.
At least that is what the Head of the Malang City Revenue Service, Ir. Ade Herawanto, MT said after giving the plaque of appreciation to Hari. "We hope that other restaurant or stall owners have the awareness to pay taxes so that they will also contribute to the city they love," he said.
Meanwhile, Hari as the owner of the stall admitted that he was happy because he received an award from the Malang City Revenue Office even though he did not pay taxes solely to get all that. "Before the Revenue Office officers collected taxes, I had already paid them, because the results of the tax collection will later be returned to the community in the form of development," he explained.
"On the other hand, most of my customers are civil servants (PNS) of Malang City Government. So I feel ashamed if I don't pay taxes. As a good citizen, I am also obliged to obey and pay taxes. Hopefully in the future Malang City will be more advanced and developed, and the Dispenda tax target will be met," concluded Hari. (say/yon)
