After holding the 2014 Abah Anton Cup Football Championship, the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) of Malang City made a new breakthrough at the end of November 2014. Taking place at Malang City Hall, the management of the PSSI Malang City Branch Management Association was inaugurated, Sunday (30/11).
Having been officially inaugurated, the management of the Malang City PSSI Association under the leadership of Luqman Al-Karim (Gus Lukman) immediately stepped on the gas by preparing a series of programs. Among them is preparing the team that will be sent to appear in the 2015th Banyuwangi Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) XNUMX.
Gus Lukman said, since being officially elected as the Chairman of the Malang City PSSI Association, he is committed to returning the glory of Malang City football to become a barometer in Indonesia. The position as Chairman of the Malang City PSSI Association is a mandate and an opportunity to be maximized as well as possible from the beginning of the management until the end.
"Starting on December 9, 2014, the Malang City PSSI Pengcab Association will hold a championship between POPS. One of the goals of this championship is to select Malang City players who are prepared to appear in Porprov V," explained Gus Lukman, Sunday (30/11).
Lukman explained, in the coming weeks, a coach for Porprov V will be selected to select the players for Porprov Malang City. The hope is that by the end of December 2014, the Porprov V team will have been formed and will undergo training camp.
"The preliminary round of Porprov has started around February 2015, therefore we will really maximize the remaining time to prepare the team as best as possible," said Gus Lukman.
Lukman explained that in addition to preparing the Porprov V team, the Malang City PSSI Pengcab Association is also preparing cooperation to hold a championship between high schools throughout East Java. The championship is planned to be held in February 2015 in collaboration with Brawijaya University Malang.
"In addition, we will also intensify championships between junior high schools/senior high schools throughout Malang City, as well as championships for younger ages to develop football so that it can become Indonesia's mainstay," he added.
Meanwhile, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said he was very happy that PSSI Malang City had been inaugurated and already had many programs. With these many programs, his party is optimistic that they can restore the glory of football in Malang City to achieve at the East Java, national, and international levels.
