PLP Development Directorate Holds KPP Training

KPP is needed so that the implementation of operations and maintenance can run smoothly. Therefore, an organization is needed to manage sanitation facilities after the construction period and preservation of assets that have been built by the community," explained Esi.

He added that the KPP was formed at the RT/RW III discussion stage. The KPP organization is legalized by a decree (SK) from the village head or village chief, has AD/ART (Articles of Association and Bylaws), has a management structure, must consist of members of the community who use the sanitation infrastructure and facilities that are built, 40 percent of the management must be women and there is a work plan.

The provisions of the organization, said Esi, must be able to organize its members, be able to guarantee the interests of users and find alternative solutions to problems faced, be able to carry out working relationships with other institutions, and be able to apply sanctions to violators of the regulations.

The KPP's duties, continued the woman in the hijab, must be able to prepare a work plan, operational mechanism and maintenance of sanitation facilities (IPAL/Communal Wastewater Management Installation with a piping system), collect and manage funds for operational and maintenance costs obtained from member contributions and other parties, operate and maintain sanitation facilities (Communal IPAL with a piping system), improve the quality of service and number of users, and conduct health campaigns.

Meanwhile, an example of an organizational chart, according to Esi, must have a fund business section, operations section, counseling and maintenance section, and health section. The procedures for managing KPP include planning, fund management, operations and maintenance, and development. "So that KPP can be formed with sections," he concluded. (say/yon)
