Almost two months of holding the Abah Anton Cup soccer tournament between PO/PS, the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) of Malang City held a soccer appreciation night on the outdoor field of Gajayana Stadium. Chairman of the Malang City PSSI Association Luqman Al-Karim expressed his gratitude that Malang City could hold a championship between sub-districts and PO/PS competing for the Malang Mayor's Cup. From this event, it is hoped that it can be the beginning to be able to raise the achievements of Malang City football again.
"I hope that football in Malang City, which has had no achievements in the last few years, can start to show its achievements again starting in 2015. Malang City can once again become a barometer for national football," explained Gus Lukman, Luqman Al-Karim's nickname, Tuesday (22/12).
Gus Lukman said that football in Malang City is increasingly concerning because its achievements are decreasing. Only by achieving achievements is the only way to revive Malang City football so that the interest of Malang City residents to watch football is greater.
"The closing committee of the inter-PO/PS championship has been so extraordinary in providing the stage today, but only a few came. This shows that football in Malang City has no achievements, how can without achievements the audience come," said Gus Lukman.
Of the two championships that have been held, namely the inter-district championship, the first winner was Blimbing District, the second winner was Lowokwaru District, and Sukun District won an award as the best team. Fair Play. Meanwhile, in the inter-PO/PS championship, the first winner was PS Putra Jaya from Batu City, second was PS Presma South Malang, third was PS Jagung, and fourth was PS Budi Utomo.
