Malang City Marine Affairs and Fisheries Department Holds Environmental Care Action

The concern of environmentalists in Malang City to create a more beautiful, cool, and healthy Malang City seems to be very high. This was proven when the Malang City Cleanliness and Parks Department (DKP) held an Environmental Care Action in the framework of the 2015 Garbage Care Day Commemoration, hundreds of environmental activists took part, Thursday (26/02).

The action of removing nails from trees as one of the Environmental Care Action activities was led directly by the Mayor of Malang. This activity started from Malang City Hall by walking to Jl. Kahuripan, Jl. Semeru, to Slamet Park.
Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said that he strongly supports the joint action of removing nails from trees. This action is an invitation to the community to jointly preserve the trees in the surrounding environment.

"The existence of trees as oxygen producers is very beneficial for humans. With this action, we hope that Malang City can return to being green and cool like Malang in the past," explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, Thursday (26/02). In order for this ideal to be realized, community action to participate in preserving trees must continue and not just this time.

In the future, there will be more visiting care activities carried out to jointly maintain the sustainability of trees which are very beneficial for humans.

"After carrying out the nail removal action from Malang City Hall to Slamet Park, I saw that there were still many violations being committed," explained Abah Anton.

In Malang City, there are still many people or companies who prioritize their own profits by installing billboards, advertisements, banners, and other promotional media on trees which of course damage the trees and the beauty of the city. From this fact, the Malang City Government will issue regulations to take action against those who destroy trees. (cah/yon)
