Helping students of Brawijaya University Malang to be more interested in entrepreneurship, the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia (Menkop and UKM RI), Anak Agung Gede Ngurah (AAGN) Puspayoga visited Brawijaya University (UB) Malang. On this occasion, AAGN Puspayoga invited students to dare to independently develop businesses, Saturday (7/3).
Puspayoga said that currently the Indonesian nation is in dire need of new, creative entrepreneurs. Because only with entrepreneurship will the Indonesian nation be able to get out of its dependence so far.
"The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs strongly supports the development of entrepreneurship for students by providing funds ranging from IDR 5 million to IDR 25 million. Students who are interested can submit a proposal," explained Puspayoga, Saturday (07/03).
Currently, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia is also boosting the development of UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises_ed) in the general public. The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs is targeting that this year the development of UMKM can reach two percent of the total population.
"One of the ways we provide this support is by providing easy patent management for MSMEs. We hope that MSMEs will immediately register their patents. If previously the management process could take up to six months, now we are ready to serve in at least one day," he added.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector III for Student Affairs of UB Malang, Prof. Dr. Ir. Arief Prajitno, MS admitted that he was ready to accept the challenge from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs because currently there are many UB students who are entrepreneurs.
"So far, many students have received financial assistance through the Student Entrepreneurship Program from the Directorate General of Higher Education. With the provision of funds from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, it will certainly motivate us to further encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of students," said Arief. (cah/yon)
