Of the ten terminals in Indonesia, Arjosari Terminal will be one of the pilot projects. Although the construction of the terminal is not yet complete, Arjosari Terminal will be built as luxurious as possible.
Arjosari Terminal will be made like terminals abroad, for example like those in Hong Kong and Malaysia. One of the concepts of its construction is made like a canopy model, so there is a kind of thick glass expanse hanging in every corner of the terminal.
That was conveyed by the Head of the Malang City Transportation Agency (Dishub), Dr. Handi Priyanto, AP, M.Si, Tuesday (10/03). Regarding the construction of the Arjosari Terminal, he said, the budget allocation sourced from the APBN (State Budget) of Rp. 30 billion, and from the APBN-P (Revised State Budget) of Rp. 10 billion has been approved and is ready to be disbursed.
"The construction of Arjosari Terminal is targeted to be completed in 2015. Later, in this terminal there will be zones, such as zone A for the public, zone B for the food court, zone C for the waiting room, and others. From this concept, we hope that the public or prospective passengers can be more comfortable," added Handi.
When the construction of the Arjosari Terminal is complete, the management of the terminal, he continued, will be handled by the Ministry of Transportation. What needs to be understood here is only the management, as is the case at airports. "In this context, there are service standards, and will involve the Malang City Transportation Agency," explained Handi.
"In East Java, in addition to the Ajosari Terminal in Malang City, Surabaya City will also be a pilot project. In Indonesia, each province only has one terminal that is a pilot project. Specifically for East Java, there are two cities. The concept and formulation of the development are based on the results of discussions with Ahmadi as the Head of the Road Transportation Network Sub-Directorate of the LLAJ Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation some time ago," concluded Handi.
