Enforcing Regional Regulations, Malang City Satpol PP Will Not Be Selective

Head of Public Order Agency of Malang City Drs. Agoes Edy Poetranto MMThe Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) promises not to be selective in enforcing regional regulations (Perda). This is in accordance with the Tupoksi (Main Duties and Functions) of Satpol PP which is indeed as the enforcer of Perda, so any action or deed that violates the rules must be immediately dealt with firmly.

Head of Satpol PP Malang City Drs. Agoes Edy Poetranto, MM when met by reporters at Malang City Hall said, together with related agencies such as the Legal Section of Malang City Government, Transportation Agency, Communication and Information Agency, and Malang City Market Agency, residents who are proven to have violated the Regional Regulation will be sanctioned.

Agoes gave an example of the tower problem that has not been used properly and has received criticism from the public. "If there is input or complaints from the public regarding the tower, we will go directly to the field to conduct checks. For example, the tower on Jl. Lembang Tawangmangu," he said.

"We will send a final warning letter to the owner of the tower and will cut off the electricity so that the tower no longer functions. The next step is that we will seal it and call the owner to dismantle it. If we have done all the procedures and there is no good faith from the owner, then Satpol PP has the right to dismantle it," said Agoes.

He added that Satpol PP will coordinate with the Communication and Information Agency which has data on tower establishment and understands in detail which towers are not used appropriately. "If there are many tower violations, the Legal Department is ready to assist us from the legal basis side. We will act fairly and firmly if violations are found," added Agoes.

Likewise, when confirmed regarding the Singashari Spa problem on Jl. Tangkuban Perahu. Agoes admitted that currently his party is still giving tolerance this week, because when our officers went there some time ago there was still door repair.

"We have coordinated with BP2T, and the information is that the permit cannot be issued yet because they are still waiting for the repair of the gate. We will continue to monitor it, and if there is no change this week and no request for repair of the permit, then we will conduct a joint operation. We will see the facts on the ground, and if it is proven that there are serious violations, we can seal it," concluded Agoes. (say/yon)
