This was conveyed by a member of Commission X of the People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), Moreno Soeprapto when meeting the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton at the Gajahmada Hotel, on Jl. Dr. Cipto, Tuesday (17/03). According to him, currently there must be special coaching for high-achieving athletes in Malang City. In addition, it is also accompanied by the arrangement, addition, or improvement of infrastructure in the field of sports.
When meeting the Mayor of Malang, the Gerindra Party politician who was at that time in a series of recess events said that his party also discussed the preparation of Malang City in the implementation of the National Sports Week (PON) in West Java in 2016. "We hope that this city can include quality and accomplished athletes," Moreno hoped.
"Several sports branches that are superior must receive special attention, especially in the automotive sector. Sports are currently an industry that can elevate and make the name of a region famous. For the automotive sector, because its enthusiasts are from young people, it must be accommodated well," added the man who was also a national car racer.
Currently, Moreno continued, there are many cases of mugging, and young people are very vulnerable to being trapped in such criminal acts if their talents cannot be directed properly. "For the automotive sector, the government must participate in providing infrastructure such as special circuits," he explained.
When asked whether Moreno would facilitate the construction of a racing circuit in Malang City, he admitted that he would still communicate again with the Mayor of Malang. "So far, racing circuits have only been in big cities like Surabaya and Jakarta. If possible, why not have Malang City have a national racing circuit. When there are facilities, many people will automatically come to this city which will automatically increase the Regional Original Income (PAD)," he explained.
"To build a racing circuit, the cost required is very relative and depends on who will build the standard circuit. If in Malang City it is possible to build a circuit, then I hope there are investors, and we will openly present the development plan to related parties, including the local government," Moreno explained.
Later, if it can be realized, he said, the circuit will not only function as a racing arena, but can also be used as a place to make SIM (Driving Licenses). test drive, and others. "In this context, the safety and feasibility of the circuit will be a special concern. At least with a budget of around Rp. 5 billion, a racing circuit can be built in Malang City," Moreno continued.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton agreed with what Moreno said. The man who is familiarly called Abah Anton admitted that he would coordinate more intensively with Moreno regarding the meeting and discussion yesterday.
