Satpol PP and Linmas of Malang City Must Be More Professional

satpolpp-linmas-professionalThe increasingly complex problems faced by Malang City require agile handling so that order, security, and peace are maintained. To be able to realize this ideal, the performance of professional local government apparatus is needed.

That is one of the things that can be captured from the morning assembly in commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the 53rd Anniversary of the Community Protection Unit (Linmas) of Malang City which was held in the yard of Malang City Hall, Tuesday (17/3).

To realize these ideals and be able to carry out their duties well, at this increasingly mature age, Satpol PP and Linmas of Malang City must continue to improve to be able to answer the challenges of the development of the times.

Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said that Satpol PP and Linmas are two institutions that can specifically assist the Malang City Government in enforcing regional regulations. Their existence is very much needed to maintain security and order in Malang City.

"In the future, Satpol PP and Linmas must be more professional. Their current role is greatly missed by the community," said Abah Anton, the nickname of the Mayor of Malang, Tuesday (17/3).

The still minimal number of Satpol PP personnel, Abah Anton explained that to keep Malang City conducive, the Malang City Government also involves the TNI/Polri to maintain security and order. The unification of government officials, law enforcement, and all elements of society like this will be a good step for the progress of Malang City in the future.

Meanwhile, the Head of Satpol PP Malang City, Drs. Agoes Edy Poetranto, MM said that at the age of 65, it is hoped that Satpol PP Malang City will be more professional. The still minimal number of Satpol PP Malang City personnel should not be an excuse for the less than optimal performance of Satpol PP.

"Seeing the development of Malang City, which currently has a population of one million, Malang City should have 400-500 Satpol PP personnel. Currently, Malang City only has 224 personnel," he said. (cah/yon)
