Malang City held a flag ceremony to commemorate its 101st anniversary. According to Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton, this ceremony is not merely a ceremony, but is a momentum to mobilize and unite positive energy in line with the history of Malang City, Wednesday (1/4).
At the age of 101 years, he said, we are required to be able to reflect on ourselves so that the steps we take are sustainable and the development we drive and the dedication we make are always in the spirit of bringing prosperity and progress to the City of Malang.
"We need to remember and note that this city is very historic, in front of the city hall (Malang City Hall_ed) there is a Tugu Monument named Tugu Kemerdekaan by the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno. The theme of the 101st anniversary of Malang City this time is towards an innovative, creative, and dignified Malang City," said the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton.
The Independence Monument, he said, illustrates and gives meaning that Malang City is one of the epicenters of Indonesia's struggle for independence. "It should also be remembered that this city was once one of the candidates to be made the nation's capital. This proves that Bumi Arema is indeed an area full of potential," added the PKB politician.
He added, it is not wrong if in its history and remains a contemporary history and future history that various nicknames are still attached to Malang City. "In this context, Malang City as a city of services, trade, military, tourism, and will become a smart city/smart city. And it is not just a dream, although a dream is an aspiration that can be realized," he explained.
Every era, continued Abah Anton, certainly has a character to realize that dream, and one era with another era is complementary to each other so that it becomes a strong chain. "And because of that, why the greeting known to the Malang youth is Salam Satu Jiwa which means that Bumi Arema was built from one togetherness, mutual cooperation, and unity and harmony of movement," he explained.
At the age of 101 years, Abah Anton hopes that Malang City will remain safe, peaceful, its people prosperous and prosperous, and become a dignified city. "There are still many tasks and responsibilities that we have not carried out for the welfare of the people.
