Malang City Will Have Two New Regional Regulations

The implementation of regional government is directed at accelerating the realization of community welfare through improving services, empowerment, community participation, and increasing regional competitiveness by paying attention to the principles of democracy, equality, justice and the uniqueness of a region in a unitary state system.

Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government as amended by Law Number 2 of 2015 has given regional governments the freedom to exercise the broadest possible autonomy and to organize their own government affairs based on the principles of decentralization, deconcentration and assignment tasks. The law also states that the DPRD (Regional People's Representative Council_ed) has the functions of supervision, budgeting, and regional legislation.

This was conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton in a plenary meeting to sign two new regional regulations, namely the Regional Regulation on Investment and the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) on Amendments to Regional Regulation Number 16 of 2010 on Regional Taxes in the Meeting Room of the Malang City DPRD Office, Thursday (2/4).

"With the existence of the Regional Regulation on Investment, it is hoped that it will be able to open up investment opportunities in Malang City so that it will improve the economy which can support local revenue (PAD), create jobs and increase economic growth," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.

Meanwhile, for regional taxes, explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, that taxes are one of the potential sources to support financing for regional development, so to obtain optimal tax revenue, in addition to adjustments, a system is also needed that is able to prevent deviations from existing potential and realization.

"One of the systems that needs to be encouraged and developed in the future is the payment of regional taxes through the regional tax system. online so that all potential and realization of regional taxes can be optimally received by the Malang City Government followed by collection. In addition, it can be done with a letter of coercion against tax arrears up to legal action in accordance with laws and regulations in the field of taxation," explained Abah Anton.

With the implementation of the two Regional Regulations, according to the PKB politician, it will bring great benefits, both in public services, improving public welfare, and increasing competitiveness. "Therefore, from now on all SKPD (Regional Work Units_ed) must work optimally to provide the best service to the community," concluded Abah Anton. (say/hms/yon)
