For you architects, planners, landscape experts, artists, designers, students, school children, anyone who has desires and ideas, according to plan, on Monday, April 27, 2015, the RAILWAY BOUNDARY RTH DESIGN COMPETITION held by the Malang City Marine and Fisheries Department in collaboration with Jawa Pos Radar Malang as one of the strategies towards Malang as a Green City through efforts to develop the concept of providing green space and public space in areas that are often not thought of, such as the railroad border, is OFFICIALLY OPENED.
This design competition, which is open to the public and has a total prize of tens of millions of rupiah, is being held in collaboration with Jawa Pos Radar Malang and will be held with the following provisions:
Scope of Area
There are 8 segments/areas that participants can choose from and on average have a length of approximately 200 meters as follows:
- The segment north of Satsuit Tubun Road Crossing, RW 03 Sukun
- The segment north of the Sirsak Gang Crossing, RW 01 Kebonsari Lor
- The segment north of the RW 01 crossing, Ciptomulyo Village
- The segment south of the rear crossing of the Mergosono Gas Station, RW 05, Ciptomulyo Village
- The segment north of the Jl. Kebalen Wetan intersection, RW 03, Kotalama Subdistrict
- Segment on the south side of the Lavalette Hospital crossing, RW 02 Kel. Rampal Celaket
- Segment on the north side of the Jl. Pulosari Gang 5, RW 07 Kel. Purwodadi crossing
- Segment on the south/east side of the A Yani flyover, Jl. Pulosari Gang 1, RW 07 Kel. Purwodadi
Furthermore, we will provide a link that provides a keyplan location map, area directions, location photos, contact persons for the local RW/RT heads and other important information that can help participants, both from within and outside the city.
Design Scope
- Strong Character / Thematic
- Environmentally Friendly (Maximum pavement proportion 30% of area)
- Paying attention to the aspirations of the surrounding community
- Paying attention to people with special needs (disabled and disabled)
- Utilization time (lighting element)
- Safe and comfortable
- Pay attention to the green city concept (green city attributes) in the selection of materials and processes
- Easy and cheap maintenance aspects (Low maintenance)
- All work submitted to the committee is entirely the right of the committee to publish, use and improve/adjust the submitted work.

- It is your own/original work (the committee has the right to revoke prizes and championship titles if plagiarism is proven).
- Never been entered in any competition.
- Basic Concept of Planning and Design (in narrative, descriptive and prescriptive form, maximum 10 sheets A4, font 12 Arial, spacing 1,5, margin 3-3-3-3) and estimate of the required Budget Plan.
- Complete with Detailed/Atmosphere Sketch (Free format, can be computer or hand drawn).
- A2 paper format max. 6 sheets including: layout, overall view, 2-way cuts (vertical horizontal), perspective, sketch details.
- Submit a softcopy of the work (jpeg or pdf) with a minimum resolution that can be printed well and without breaking up on A2 paper size.
Participant Conditions
- Participants register in 1 (one) general category
- Participants can register as individuals or groups with a maximum of 3 (three) members.
- One participant (individual/team) can only submit 1 (one) design concept and choose 1 of the 8 alternative locations mentioned above.
- Participants can register by filling out the form provided at Radar Malang or the Malang City DKP Office and/or downloading it from the official Facebook, Twitter and website accounts of Radar Malang, Malang City DKP and/or the Malang City Government.
- Participants register by attaching a photocopy of their identity card (1 sheet)
- Participants must be willing to sign an originality pact and a stamped statement that the work has never been submitted to a competition when submitting the work.
- Submission of works will be carried out at the Committee Secretariat at the address stated in this Terms of Reference.
- The entire jury team is not eligible to participate in the competition.
