The Malang City Islamic High School (MA) contingent is ready to compete in the East Java Provincial Level Madrasah Arts and Sports Competition (Aksioma) which will be held in Tuban this week. A total of 70 participants and ofofficial released by the Head of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Office of Malang City, Drs. H. Imron, M.Ag at MAN Malang 1, Tuesday (5/5).
Imron expressed his hope that the Malang City contingent would display its best performance at the East Java Aksioma which will be held from 7 to 11 May 2015 so that it can bring honor to the name of Malang City.
The theme of Aksioma this time is "Developing a Sporty, Creative, Professional Attitude in Realizing a High-Achieving and Dignified Madrasah". That hope was also conveyed by Imron to the entire contingent from MA Malang City.
"Hopefully in Tuban the entire contingent from Malang City can show their best performance, uphold a sporty, creative, professional attitude and many will qualify for the national level later," he hoped, Tuesday (5/5).
The MA Malang City contingent in Tuban will compete in various competitions, including the 100-meter race, 400-meter race, table tennis, badminton, chess, futsal, volleyball, English speech, Arabic speech, calligraphy, MTQ (Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran_ed), Fahmil Quran, creation of poetry containing the contents of the Quran, graphic design and Islamic bands.
Most of the participants representing Malang City came from MAN Malang 1 and MAN 3 Malang. Some others came from private MAs, one of which was MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang which sent four female students to compete in the women's volleyball competition.
"So far, Aksioma participants have been dominated by MA Negeri. Therefore, we are quite proud that our students can take part, and this is the first time for us to participate in Aksioma. Hopefully, our students can bring a good name to Malang City," said the Head of MA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang, Muzaenah, S.Ag. (cah/yon)
