KPK Holds Anti-Corruption Workshop for Malang City Apparatus

State officials, if not careful in carrying out their duties, are very vulnerable to being trapped in criminal acts of corruption. In relation to this, the Malang City Government does not want its officials to be involved and commit acts of corruption.

To realize this, officials within the Malang City Government were included in the Anti-Corruption Workshop for Malang City Apparatus held by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the Swiss Bell Hotel Malang, Tuesday (12/5).

Government officials as public servants must provide good service and must set a good example. One of them is not to be involved in criminal acts of corruption. They must know the limits of actions that fall into the category of corruption and those that do not.

The Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton said, workshop like this is very important, so that officials do not get involved in corruption. "Especially in the field of education which is one of the areas prone to corruption," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Abah Anton added that educators must provide good examples to their students. "Abroad, students are taught various things from an early age. Such as how to run a government and become a people's representative in parliament," explained the PKB politician.

Separately, the Head of the Group for Concern in the Prevention Sector of the KPK's Gratification Directorate, Edy Suryanto, said that this event was to provide an understanding to Malang City Government officials regarding the rules on gratification and other things related to corruption.

"Until now, procurement of goods and services and licensing are still very vulnerable to corruption. Therefore, do not let this corruption be experienced by officials in the Malang City Government. They must know and understand all the rules related to this," added Edy. (say/yon)
