The Charm of Bromo Exhibited at Malang City Hall

Appreciating the results of its members' shots, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Focus of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held an exhibition at Malang City Hall, Tuesday (12/5) to Saturday (16/5).

The exhibition committee, M. Wildan, revealed that the photos exhibited at Malang City Hall were the result of shots by members of Focus UMM class XXII taken on May 3-5, 2015 with the object location in the Mount Bromo area. "This activity takes the title Exhibition Under the Stage with the object location in the Mount Bromo area and its surroundings," explained Wildan, Tuesday (12/5).

Wildan explained, with this activity, UKM Focus UMM students were trained to capture objects in the Mount Bromo area that are related to the daily activities of the community. Several areas in the Mount Bromo area that were used as photography objects include Cemorolawang, Ngadisari, Wonotoro, and Jetak which have been known to be rich in the unique culture of the Tengger tribe.

"Taking pictures in a village that is still beautiful and has many gardens is expected to inspire UKM Focus participants to explore the art of photography further," said Wildan.

A total of 82 photographic works taken by 32 participants of UKM Focus UMM were exhibited at Malang City Hall. The exhibition was deliberately held at Malang City Hall with the aim of introducing the works of UKM Focus to the general public in Malang City. (cah/yon)
