Good Management, the Key to Successful PKL

Helping street vendors (PKL) to become successful entrepreneurs, the Malang City Market Service held business training for street vendors. In collaboration with the Trade Education and Training Center (Pusdiklat), the Malang City Market Service held a Business Management Training for Street Vendors at the Kartika Graha Hotel, Monday (25/5).

In this training, there were speakers who were business experts and street vendors who had achieved success to become big entrepreneurs. The training, which was attended by 50 street vendors in Malang City, was held for four days, May 25-29, 2015.

Head of the Malang City Market Service, Drs. Wahyu Setianto, MM said that this activity is an activity to empower street vendors in Malang City. By being given business management training, street vendors can further develop themselves so that in the future their businesses can progress and even become successful entrepreneurs. "By being more empowered, we want street vendors in Malang City to be more advanced, orderly so that they can become successful entrepreneurs," said Wahyu, Monday (25/5).

From this activity, Wahyu hopes that street vendors in Malang City can absorb knowledge on how to build success from the material provided. The presence of speakers who were previously street vendors but have now become big entrepreneurs and experts from the University of Indonesia (UI) is expected to further open the horizons of street vendors to develop their businesses.

Meanwhile, Head of Human Resources Training Division of the Trade Sector of the Ministry of Trade, Eddie Yanto Latief, SH, M.Si said that this activity was deliberately held in Malang City because the potential of this city (Malang) is very good. Many street vendors in Malang City have the opportunity to become big businesses that have not been optimized so far.

"PKL has proven to be crisis-resistant and resilient. We hope that with the help of this Management Training, PKL in Malang City can be more empowered," said Eddie.

With good coaching, he hopes that the image of street vendors who are difficult to control, the impression of being dirty, often disturbing order, can be eliminated. Through good coaching, he is sure that street vendors will be able to become creative traders who can be orderly, develop their potential well, and can make Malang City proud. (cah/yon)
