The large number of unfit for consumption and health-threatening foods circulating in the market requires consumers to be smarter. One of them is to carefully read the instructions on the label of the goods or food that will be purchased, that's one of the tips from Wisnu Arif, Wednesday (27/5).

Wisnu Arif from the Directorate of Consumer Empowerment of the Ministry of Trade said that consumers or the public will gain more benefits by being more careful before buying, because they will avoid unwanted things.
In the Consumer Empowerment Socialization at the PSBB Building MAN 3 Malang initiated by the Malang City Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag), the participants explored a lot of information related to consumer protection.
Wisnu expressed his pleasure in sharing knowledge in the socialization of consumer protection at MAN 3 Malang. With this activity, it is hoped that it can make consumers smarter when buying a product. "With this socialization, we hope that consumers will not only thank you (accept_ed), but dare to be critical of an item that will be purchased," explained Wisnu, Wednesday (27/5).
Through consumers who are critical, of course, it can make entrepreneurs more careful in releasing products that will be made. Because if entrepreneurs are careless, of course they will lose themselves because their products will not be bought again by the public.
Head of Consumer Supervision and Protection Section of the East Java Trade and Industry Agency, Eka Setyabudi, said that his party will continue to conduct socialization. Not only consumers, but entrepreneurs are also given sufficient information to sell truly safe products.
"Like now, approaching Ramadan until Ramadan arrives, we are also actively conducting operations to various supermarkets and markets to ensure that the goods sold are safe, no expired products are traded," Eka stressed. (cah/yon)
