In the 5th Provincial Sports Week in Banyuwangi, the team aeromodeling Malang City successfully exceeded its target. The team initially only targeted one gold medal, but on Thursday (4/6) it had already won two gold medals and one bronze.

The first gold was presented by Dewi Ayu Puspitasari in the OHLG class (On Hand Launched Glider_red), the second gold by Desi Dwi Rahmawati in the F1H class, and bronze by Atik Choiriyah in the F1H class.
Team manager, Hendra Purwaning Dumadi said, of the nine gold medals competed for, the Malang City team has achieved the maximum with 3 medals. "The match ends today, Sunday (7/6), and it seems they cannot add medals," he said, Sunday (7/6).
"Our weaknesses so far have been focused on funding and equipment. We submitted the team's needs a year before the implementation of Porprov. However, due to budget constraints, so far the assistance has not been maximized," explained Hendra.
However, he said, it would not be a problem, and all of that has been proven with an achievement this time. "Funds are not the only reference for us. We will try our best to give the best," he added.
In the future, Hendra continued, his party will participate in the regional championship in Tulungagung this year, and the motor championship in Pamekasan. "We will play later , and at least one gold can be achieved. However, Malang City actually has no specific target," he explained.
On event said Hendra, his team will also seek experience and increase the flying hours of the athletes, as well as foster the skills of prospective Poprov Malang City athletes. "The age of our athletes is still young, and for the next two Porprov events, they can still appear," he explained.
"Our athletes are now on average 14 years old. While the maximum age of Porprov athletes is 21 years old. For training center, all this time we are insupport by SMP 2 YPK Malang City located on Jl. Brawijaya. Although the place is not optimal, we feel quite comfortable," concluded Hendra. (say/yon)
