As Eid al-Fitr approaches, one of the traditions of our people that cannot be eliminated is looking for and exchanging new money, even to the point of being willing to queue for hours at money exchange places such as banks.

In relation to that, the Bank Indonesia (BI) Malang Representative Office has prepared funds of around Rp 3,5 trillion to face this year's Lebaran. Currently half of that amount is ready and the rest is waiting while it is running.
This was conveyed by the Head of the BI Malang Representative Office, Dudi Herawadi, to reporters, Thursday (25/06). According to him, the money amounting to Rp 3,5 trillion was not only for exchanging new money, but to support all transaction needs for payment activities.
"The exchange of new money will start on July 6-16, 2015. We urge the public not to exchange all their new money at BI Malang, but also to general banks and BPR (People's Credit Bank_ed). Thus there will be no long queues at BI on those dates," added Dudi.
In Malang there are 32 banks, if each bank has three to four o, then there will be many bank offices that can be used as places to exchange new money. "Therefore, the community does not have to go to BI," Dudi emphasized. (say/yon)
