Athletes and coaches who successfully brought home medals at the East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) V in Banyuwangi can finally smile broadly. Because, the long-awaited achievement bonus as a reward for hard work has finally come down, Friday (26/6).
In the bonus handover which was carried out at Baiduri Sepah Ballroom, Cafe & Restaurant This, gold medal winners get a bonus of Rp 25 million, silver medalists Rp 10 million, and bronze medalists Rp 7,5 million. Meanwhile, coaches whose athletes win gold medals get a bonus of Rp 10 million, silver Rp 5 million and bronze Rp 4 million.
The General Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Malang City, Bambang DH Suyono, admitted that he was happy that finally the bonuses for Malang City athletes and coaches who achieved in Banyuwangi could be disbursed. He was also proud of Malang City's achievements in the Banyuwangi V Porprov which won 41 gold medals, 28 silver, and 54 bronze,
"The total bonus issued to Malang City athletes and coaches who achieved in Banyuwangi was Rp. 2,6 billion," explained Bambang, Friday (26/6).
Bambang explained that of the 34 sports branches belonging to KONI Malang City members that appeared in Banyuwangi, four sports branches managed to exceed their targets, namely cycling, tennis, wrestling and aeromodeling. Meanwhile, eight sports that are on target are athletics, bodybuilding, bridge, chess, gymnastics, taekwondo, and tarung Derajat. While other sports are still not on target.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji admitted that he was proud of the success of Malang City which won second place in Porprov V Banyuwangi. The provision of this bonus is a form of appreciation and attention from the Malang City Government to athletes who have made the name of this city proud.
"Currently, the bonus in Porprov V has increased to Rp 25 million for gold medals. I hope that in the upcoming Porprov, the bonus for Malang City Porprov athletes can be Rp 50 million," said Sutiaji. (cah/yon)
