Chairman of the Regional Committee of the 33rd Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress H. Saifullah Yusuf said that preparations for the conference have so far reached 97 percent. The 33rd NU Congress is scheduled to be held on August 1-5, 2015 in Jombang Regency, East Java.

This was stated by the man who is familiarly called Gus Ipul when he was met on the sidelines of a public religious study and halalbihalal event at the Sabilurrosyad Islamic Boarding School, Gasek, Sukun District, Malang City, Monday (27/7).
According to the man who is also the Deputy Governor of East Java, various agendas will be discussed in the upcoming congress, especially those related to NU organization. Such as the articles of association (AD), Bylaws (ART), work programs, and the election of the new PBNU Chairman.
Regarding the number of candidates for PBNU Chairman and who the most likely candidate is, Gus Ipul admitted that he did not know for sure. "There are many candidates circulating, as reported by the media. But I still don't know for sure. What is certain is that one of the candidates is incumbent KH Said Aqil Sirad," he explained, Monday (27/7).
"What will probably be debated at the upcoming conference is about voting. But later we will leave everything to the conference participants. Whatever the conference results are, we must accept them. We hope everything will run smoothly," added Gus Ipul. (say/yon)
