After SMP Negeri 3 Malang won the title as one of the best schools in the management of the use of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds in East Java, now the SMP located on Jl. Dr. Cipto No. 20 has advanced to the national level.
In East Java, there are three junior high schools that advanced to the national level, namely SMPN 3 Malang, SMPN 1 Surabaya, and SMPN 1 Pasuruan Regency. Yesterday, Thursday (30/7), the assessment team from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) of the Center and East Java conducted an assessment to SMPN 3 Malang.
One of the assessment teams, Ade Tatang from the Central BOS Development Team of the Directorate of Junior High School Development of the Ministry of Education and Culture, said that his party conducted an administrative examination of the school regarding the use of BOS funds. "From the results of the examination, we also matched it with the conditions at the school," he said, Thursday (30/7).
"In addition, the role of the school committee, teachers, students, school achievements, and students will also be assessed. Meanwhile, the use of BOS funds is for library development, acceptance of new students, and others. There should be no levies for the acceptance of new students," added Tatang.
The existence of this competition, he continued, is to encourage each school in the use of BOS funds to be more transparent and can be known by the public. "If there are complaints of violations of the use of BOS funds from the public, then the school will receive sanctions from the local Regency/City Education Office," explained Tatang.
Separately, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said that his party was proud because SMPN 3 Malang could make Malang City proud. "In the future, hopefully other schools can follow suit. We also hope that this school (SMPN 3 Malang_ed) will be the best at the national level," he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMPN 3 Malang, Drs. H. Burhanuddin, M.Pd admitted that he was happy with the BOS management competition. He also admitted that there was no special preparation to participate in this competition. "We have been managing BOS funds every day, so it runs as it is," he said. (say/yon)
