Malang City Ready to Win 2015 Healthy City Award

Of the 147 regencies/cities in Indonesia, Malang City is one of the candidates in the 2015 National Healthy City Competition. In relation to this, the jury team from the Indonesian Ministry of Health conducted verification at this City of Education, Thursday (20/8).

The head of the verification team, Prayit Susilo Aji said that Malang City is a city that is different from other cities, and has extraordinary beauty. "I am happy to be in this city (Malang)," he said when his team was received at the Malang City Hall Meeting Room.

"We conducted a document dissection and verified it in the field after Malang City submitted a Healthy City Competition proposal some time ago. We matched the suitability of the documents with the conditions in the field, as well as to provide an assessment later," Prayit added, Thursday (20/8).

In September to October, he said, his party will hold a meeting to determine which regencies/cities will qualify and receive the 2015 Healthy City award. "The announcement of this competition will be announced in November. Later, the Minister of Health or the President will invite and present the award on National Health Day (HKN)," Prayit continued.

Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said that Malang City has met various criteria to become a Healthy City. "With the existence of beautiful city parks, clean villages, and community participation in maintaining a healthy environment, I think it is already extraordinary," he said.

Meanwhile, Harinoto as the Head of the Malang City Healthy City Forum said that there was no special preparation when the Healthy City Competition was held. "The most important thing is the coordination of all SKPD (Regional Work Units_ed) with related parties, as well as with the Mayor of Malang. That is the most important thing and we have been doing it all this time," he explained. (say/yon)
