After around 3.000 Muslims held a lantern parade in the evening to celebrate the Islamic New Year 1437 Hijri, on Wednesday (14/10) morning it was the turn of the Nahdlatul Ulama Kindergarten students to hold a decorated car parade.

Since around 07.00 WIB, the kindergarten students have been preparing around the Malang City Hall office wearing Muslim clothes and regional traditional clothes. They looked so cute and adorable when they got on the open-back car that had been decorated so beautifully.
Not long after, 172 decorated cars were symbolically sent off by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, accompanied by the committee and other Malang City Government officials. When passing in front of the Mayor of Malang, the children participating in the parade waved their hands and occasionally called out the name of their mayor as a form of their admiration for the number one person in the Malang City Government.
According to the man who is often called Abah Anton, this decorated car parade also provides its own entertainment for him and the community in general. "Activities like this will later be made an annual agenda and the Malang City Government willsupport as optimally as possible," he said, Wednesday (14/10).
Meanwhile, the head of the committee, Mochtar Data said that this event is not just a parade, but there are many meanings that must be understood in the celebration of the Islamic New Year. "With the reading of takbir, tahmid and tahlil will instill the noble values of Islam to children from an early age, so that it is hoped that they will grow into a quality generation," he explained.
The same thing was also conveyed by one of the committees who is also a member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Latifa Sohib. According to her, in addition to the lantern parade, she will also recommend that this decorated car parade be one unit to be used as religious tourism. "All of that (the lantern parade and the decorated car parade_ed) will become one of the icons for the city of Malang," she explained. (say/yon)
