The Industry and Trade Agency (Disperindag) of Malang City again held training for local residents and Small and Medium Industry (IKM) players, Wednesday (4/11) at Hotel Montana II Malang. This time, Disperindag provided training in making footwear from cowhide, namely shoes and sandals for men and women.
This training was held because home industry sandals and shoes in the city (Malang) are still relatively few, there are only large-scale factories. By holding this training, it is hoped that it will emerge home industry Shoes and sandals made of high quality cowhide and are suitable for sale on the market.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Textile and Miscellaneous Industry Development and Development Section, ILMETA and IATT Industry Sector of the Malang City Trade and Industry Office, Nugroho Bambang J. when met on the sidelines of the training. According to him, this training is also to prepare the community to face the global market or commonly called the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Not only providing training, the Malang City Trade and Industry Office will also help with marketing the products produced in this training. "In addition, IKM actors can open o at home or elsewhere, we will help market the products of these IKM actors, for example by participating in an exhibition. If necessary, the Trade and Industry Office will also hold its own exhibition," added Nugroho, Wednesday (4/11).
Separately, one of the training participants, Vira Diana, admitted that she was happy with the training. She admitted that she gained new knowledge about how to make sandals and shoes. "Although I already have a leather business, in the form of bags, this training is a different type of product. With this training, it will further complement the leather bag business that I have been running. It's not bad for adding to the types of merchandise," explained the woman in the hijab. (say/yon)
