In order to increase tourist visits to Malang City, the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) held various exhibitions in front of Malang City Hall from Saturday morning (7/11) to Sunday night (8/11). Around the Tugu Square, various photos of Malang in the past and present (in one photo frame_ed), agate and keris exhibitions, culinary tours, and statues from the pottery industry were exhibited.

The exhibition was greeted with great enthusiasm by the local people and foreign citizens who knew about the exhibition. On Sunday night (8/11), the event entitled 'Malang City Tourism of The World' this was opened by the Deputy Governor of East Java, Drs. Saifullah Yusuf, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton and other related parties.
According to Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton, his party will soon realize the art market and Malang souvenirs in the Pasar Bareng area. "We will accommodate UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises_ed) and souvenir sellers in Bareng which is currently still a Bareng market. We will carry out construction as soon as possible, and it is estimated that construction will begin in early 2016," said the man who is often called Abah Anton, Sunday (8/11).
With the existence of the art market, he said, it is certain that it will increase tourist visits to Malang City, improve the people's economy, and we will package it as attractively as possible. Thus, tourists who come to this city (Malang) will be made to feel at a loss if they do not come to this art market. "In addition, this is also a program to empower and organize Street Vendors (PKL) who so far have not had a strategic place to sell," added the PKB politician.
This program received a positive response from the Deputy Governor of East Java, Drs. Saifullah Yusuf who greatly appreciated the development of the art market. According to the man who is usually called Gus Ipul, the potential of Malang City is extraordinary and is a benchmark for East Java and even for Indonesia. "This can be an example for other cities, and the progress of East Java is one of its strong supports from Malang City, both in terms of tourism, education, and UMKM," he explained. (say/yon)
