Klojen,MC – Regarding the implementation of the simultaneous regional head elections (pilkada) in December 2015, the East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Anton Setiadji admitted that he had prepared thousands of Polri personnel to guard and secure it. He conveyed this while at the Malang City Police Headquarters, Wednesday (18/11). According to him, this readiness is also to provide security and safety services for the community as well as the KPU (General Election Commission) and regional head candidate pairs.

"We have made preparations long ago, because political movements can change every minute and even every second. The National Police have prepared everything, including the worst possibility when there is a regional election. The political temperature in each region has shown an increase, so it must be anticipated as early as possible," explained Anton.
Every region, he said, has the potential for conflict during the upcoming regional elections, and all parties should be able to understand this. Every candidate pair (regional head) and the KPU must be aware and be able to create a peaceful election (general election_ed) so that there is no political unrest. "The vulnerable areas that receive special attention from the Police are Madura and Mojokerto. Because in both areas there have been quite big problems, so there must be extra attention," explained Inspector General Anton.
He added that each region with a high potential for conflict will certainly have additional security personnel. "From the National Police Headquarters, it is possible that there will be additional assistance of 900 personnel. We hope that the simultaneous regional elections can run safely and peacefully, so that the people can also have a good democracy. And to realize that, all parties involved must help create the situation," appealed Inspector General Anton.
Regarding the condition of the regional election preparation in Malang Regency, according to him so far it is still smooth, and there is nothing to worry about. However, he appealed not to be fooled by such a situation, because anything can happen at any time. "A smooth situation like the current one is not a complete guarantee that it will continue," concluded Inspector General Anton. (say/yon)
