Lowokwaru, MC – The vastness of Indonesia's territory certainly requires different disaster management preparations in each region. That was expressed by Bambang Supriono, one of the speakers at the national seminar entitled 'Opportunities and Challenges of Implementing Dynamic Governance for Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction in Indonesia', Thursday (19/11).

In the seminar held at the Widyaloka Building, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang, Bambang studied a lot about disaster management from the administrative study side. In depth, the Professor of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences from UB discussed how disaster management should be as early as possible.
Bambang quoted the lyrics of Ebiet G. Ade's song about nature screaming, nature starting to get hot, the current forest smoke must be responded to, not only as punishment. But this is a sign that humans must make many improvements.
"However, disasters involve central and regional relations, therefore administrative studies are very important on how to use them to deal with disasters," Bambang emphasized, Thursday (19/11).
Bambang explained, behind a disaster there are certainly opportunities and challenges on how to handle it with good management. Various disaster problems such as drought, poverty, volcanic eruptions are problems that require different handling in each region.
Director of Disaster Risk Reduction of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Lilik Kurniawan said that from the seminar at UB there are many things that can be obtained. Especially how to form a resilient city to prepare for how to face a disaster.
"From this activity, it was formulated how the disaster management indicators by BNPB are in accordance with the global scenario, where in 2030 the risk of disasters can be further reduced," said Lilik.
Lilik added, Indonesia is resilient to disasters cannot be realized without the support of regions, therefore cities and districts must be resilient first. As the person responsible for regional disaster management in each city/district is the mayor or regent. (cah/yon)
