Lowokwaru, MC – The Malang City Government through the Malang City Agriculture Service in collaboration with Kodim 0833/Baladhika Jaya is carrying out simultaneous rice planting to support efforts to accelerate food self-sufficiency. This rice planting program is a national program and is carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia.
Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton initiated the simultaneous national rice planting for Malang City which was carried out in the rice fields of Tasikmadu Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, Monday (7/12). This activity was also attended by Muspika (Sub-district Leadership Council_ed), farmer groups, and the TNI-Polri.
Head of the Malang City Agriculture Service (Disperta), Ir. Hadi Santoso said that this activity is in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia who invited each region in Indonesia to make the rice planting movement a success. For Malang City, although the land owned is not that large, this city is still serious about developing the agricultural sector.
"The simultaneous rice planting program is the most appropriate moment during the rainy season with good frequency, namely in October-March," said Soni, the nickname of Ir. Hadi Santoso, Monday (7/12).
Seeing the increasingly narrow agricultural land in Malang City, the simultaneous rice planting movement is a good step. It remains to be seen how to hold it sustainably so that it brings more benefits. (cah/yon)
