Timor Leste Establishes Cooperation with FISIP UB

Lowokwaru, MC – The Timor Leste government through the Coordinating Minister for State Administration and Law, Dioniso Soares Babo, signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Brawijaya University (UB) Malang at the FISIP UB Auditorium, Monday (21/12).

Dioniso said that his party has often collaborated with UB. And one of them is this collaboration which aims to improve and develop the quality of Human Resources (HR) of Timor Leste.

"Not only at UB, many students from Timor Leste also study in Malang with state funding," explained Dioniso, Monday (21/12).

To accelerate development in Timor Leste, according to Dioniso, improving human resources is absolutely necessary. The hope is that by studying in Malang, when students from Timor Leste graduate, they can contribute to their country.

Not only in the socio-political field, Dioniso explained that Timor Leste students studying in Malang also study agricultural sciences, both on farm nor off farm, and also in the field of engineering.

With the ongoing human resource development program, Dioniso hopes that in the future it can further reduce the existence of poor people in Timor Leste. Where currently most of the poor people in Timor Leste live in villages.

Meanwhile, UB Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Bisri, MS admitted that he was pleased with the MoU. (Memorandum of Understanding_red) which has been established between FISIP UB and Timor Leste. He hopes that in the future this cooperation can be improved so that it can further improve the relationship between UB and Timor Leste and also with other countries. (cah/yon)
