Head of OJK Malang: Beware of Tempting Investment Offers

Klojen, MC – If there are investment offers in any form that are tempting, the public is advised to be vigilant. Especially if the investment offer is from the profit side beyond our reason, such as high interest rates in a certain period of time.

A reasonable investment interest rate is around 7,05 percent, and this is in accordance with the interest rate that applies in banking circles today. Investment offers that lead to fraud are still many today, and citizens are required to be more selective.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Malang, Indra Krisna, Wednesday (23/12). He said, if there is an investment offer, the first step is to ask whether the company offering it is registered with the OJK.

Next is the interest rate offered should not exceed ten percent so that it is still considered reasonable. "If the public finds or is invited to invest in a company that is unreasonable or suspicious, immediately report it to the OJK," Indra appealed, Wednesday (23/12).

So far, the bespectacled man continued, many people have become victims of investment fraud. Some of them are by offering gold investments, investing capital in the form of cash and so on. "Investment is legitimate, as long as it is still within the reasonable stage," explained Indra.

"In an investment, of course there is a risk. And when people jump in or participate in an investment offer, they must be ready to bear all risks that can happen at any time," concluded Indra. (say/yon)
