Klojen, MC – On one of the agendas of the 53rd Anniversary of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Malang, the campus that was established in 1963 held a spiritual event by providing assistance to 500 orphans. UB Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Bisri, MS symbolically handed over assistance to the orphans at the local campus mosque, Thursday (31/12).

Before the handover of assistance, the recipients of assistance who came from several areas in East Java such as Pasuruan and Tulungagung together with all UB academic activities performed the Maghrib prayer in congregation and prayed together.
According to M. Bisri, an event like this was intentionally made different from previous Dies Natalis celebrations. "UB is a big campus and needs the help of Allah SWT in carrying out all its activities. Through the prayers of these orphans, hopefully UB will be even better in 2016," he explained.
When asked about the homework of the campus located on Jl. Veteran, according to the rector, it is the improvement and enhancement of human resources, and one of them is the improvement of the quality and standard of education. "UB will add professors, and it is expected that in 2016 there will be 20 new professors. For doctors, it is sufficient, only the professors are lacking," he added.
In addition, he said, infrastructure improvements such as campuses in the Dieng area and several laboratories are targeted to be completed soon. "In terms of student competition champion rankings, UB is currently in third place in Indonesia. PIMNAS (National Student Scientific Week_ed) is in sixth place, and both predicates will also be improved later," concluded M. Bisri. (say/yon)
